How to Watch NASCAR Xfinity Series Free Without Cable Using the CW App

If you're a NASCAR fan on Florida's Treasure Coast, Space Coast, or South Florida wondering how to watch the Xfinity Series or the NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series without a cable TV subscription, you're in the right place. I'm Bryan Longworth, host of A Faster PC Live Technical Support, and today I'm going to show you exactly how to use the CW app and CW broadcast channel to catch NASCAR content completely free — no login, no subscription, and no cable required.

What Does the CW App Actually Stream for Free?

Before we get into setup, it's important to understand what the CW app does and doesn't stream, because there's an important distinction here.

The CW app does not stream the main race live. The live race broadcast is either on a local CW affiliate channel — which you can get with an antenna or a live TV streaming service — and we'll cover those options in a moment.

But here's what the CW app does give you for free:

1. Live Practice Sessions and Qualifying These stream live right on the app before race day. If you want to watch drivers hit the track before the main event, this is your free ticket in.

2. Live In-Car Driver Cameras During the Race While the race is happening, you can pull up the CW app and watch from inside your favorite driver's car. You can even hear the driver communicating with his team. That's a really cool alternative viewing experience that you honestly can't get anywhere else for free.

3. Full Race Replays The complete race replay is available on demand starting the next day after it airs on broadcast. So if you miss it live, you can watch the whole thing the next day, free of charge.

Where Can You Use the CW App?

The CW app is available on a wide range of devices. Here's the full list:

On Your Computer: Go to CWtv.com. No app download needed. Pull it up in any web browser and you're good to go.

On Your Phone or Tablet: Search for "The CW" in the App Store on iPhone or iPad, or in the Google Play Store on Android. Download it for free and you're set.

On Your TV: The CW app is available on several major streaming platforms, including Roku, Amazon Fire TV or Firestick, Google TV or Chromecast, and Apple TV.

Again, no account needed, no password, no subscription. Just download and watch.

How to Set Up the CW App on Roku (Step-by-Step Demo)

If you don't already have the CW app installed on your Roku, go to Search and type "CW." You'll see it come up right away. Install it if you haven't already.

When you open the app for the first time, it will ask you to log in. You don't have to do that. It's totally free, and you can continue without logging in.

Once you're in, you'll see options to watch the race on broadcast only, or to stream drive cams. For example, at Rockingham Speedway, you can pull up the Rockingham battle cam and watch live.

One thing to keep in mind: when you are streaming this way, you are going to see ads. And that's okay — that's how they're paying for the service. Even if you're watching with one of the paid services, you're going to see ads if you don't watch on a delay and fast-forward past them. The commercial breaks don't always 100% match up when you're streaming, so sometimes you'll get a default screen letting you know you're in a commercial break. Just wait it out and you'll be right back to the action.

How to Watch the Live Race Without Cable

If you want to watch the actual race — not just practice, qualifying, or a replay — here are your options without cable.

Option 1: Over-the-Air Antenna The CW is available in many areas with an antenna, including parts of Florida's Treasure Coast, Space Coast, and South Florida. For best reception, we recommend an outdoor antenna mounted on a 20-foot pole.

Option 2: Live TV Streaming Services You can subscribe to a live TV streaming service like YouTube TV, Hulu Plus Live TV, DirecTV Stream, Sling, or FuboTV, which carry the CW affiliate in many areas. Keep in mind these are paid services, but most offer free trials. We cover how to watch every NASCAR race — including races not aired on the CW — in a separate full-length video on our channel.

Quick Summary: How to Watch NASCAR Free with the CW App

The CW app is free and requires no login or cable subscription. It's available at CWtv.com on your computer, through the app on iPhone or Android, and on Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Firestick, Google TV, and Apple TV.

Through the app, you can watch:

  • Live practice sessions and qualifying
  • Live in-car driver cameras during the race
  • Full race replays starting the day after broadcast

To watch the live race itself, use an antenna to get your local CW channel, or check whether YouTube TV, Hulu Plus Live TV, DirecTV Stream, Sling, or FuboTV carries CW in your area.
